Location: Chicago, IllinoisJob Type: ContractCompensation Range: $30 - 36 per hourAre you a seasoned digital marketing pro with a passion for CPG and a knack for driving sales through innovative online strategies? Our food retail client is looking for a dynamic eCommerce & Customer Marketing Lead to join their North American Sales Organization. This is a high-impact, remote contract role (approx. 9.5 months with potential for full-time conversion) covering parental leaves, starting mid-August 2025.In this pivotal position, you'll blend strategic vision with hands-on execution, leading a talented team and shaping our digital presence across major retail partners.Responsibilities:
Leading a high-performing team of 5-6 marketing professionals (Analysts to Sr. Managers), fostering their growth and ensuring strategic execution.
Owning and managing the marketing budget, spearheading annual planning (especially for 2026) for key retail drive periods.
Driving eCommerce market share growth and optimizing campaign performance and ROI using your deep understanding of digital media metrics (ROAS, CPC, incremental ROAS).
Developing and executing cutting-edge retail media strategies across top networks like Roundel (Target), The Collective (Albertsons), ADRM (Ahold Delhaize), and DGRM (Dollar General).
Providing strong business acumen in CPG planning, guiding campaign strategy and investment decisions across multiple retailers.
Analyzing campaign performance and sharing best practices through detailed recaps and QBRs.
Empowering our Field Sales Teams by equipping them with the latest eCommerce sales knowledge and tools.
Acting as a key liaison for Business Unit Leadership and the National Omni Team, translating complex insights into actionable strategies.
Transitioning focus from strategic accounts (Target, Albertsons, etc.) in the first half to Grocery Wholesale (Meijer, HEB, Publix) in the second half, adapting strategies across diverse retail environments.
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in digital marketing, eCommerce, or the CPG industry.
Strong digital and eCommerce fluency, with proven expertise in media metrics (ROAS, CPC, incremental ROAS).
Direct experience with retail media strategy and buying, including familiarity with major networks (Roundel, The Collective, ADRM, DGRM).
Exceptional business acumen in CPG planning, with the ability to guide strategic investment decisions.
Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing or coordinating teams (formal people management preferred, but not required with strong digital expertise and executive presence).
Highly analytical mindset, capable of interpreting complex data (e.g., from Tableau) to drive performance.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a track record of influencing leadership and building strong internal/external relationships.
Strong project management skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with the CARS framework (Content, Availability, Ratings & Reviews, Search) is a plus.
