Position Overview:
The Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and Assistant Coordinator for Student-Athlete Success will assist administratively for strategic leadership programming focused on intercollegiate student-athletes' holistic success, extending from recruitment to engagement, retention, graduation, and post-graduate career outcomes.

Varsity student-athletes comprise roughly one half of full-time, traditional undergraduate enrollment, including significant representation in Albertus housing. The successful recruitment, retention, and graduation of student-athletes is a strategic priority for the College and a major component of enrollment management objectives, including enrollment-related revenues.

As the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, this individual is accountable for building the requisite roster size and developing a student-athlete recruitment plan to ensure the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of appropriate rosters. The Head Coach implements a strength and conditioning program and plans for and manages practices and competitions. The Head Coach also must provide positive guidance to each student-athlete that fosters and develops the premise that athletics are an integral component of the student experience, and that athletic achievement must not come at the expense of academic success.

The Assistant Coordinator for Student-Athlete Success works collaboratively in identifying and leading strategies and initiatives focused on achieving measurable performance outcomes and metrics across the enrollment management student lifecycle. The individual also works collaboratively and supportively with other College departments and personnel, serving as a liaison, facilitator, and advocate with areas such as academic advising, admissions, career and professional development, faculty, financial aid, and student services.

Essential Functions:
Head Women's Lacrosse Coach

  • Develops and implements a recruiting plan to achieve and maintain a roster size adequate for sponsorship of women's lacrosse in accordance with the College's enrollment growth strategies.
  • Develops and implements a daily practice plan to ensure proper preparation for intercollegiate competition.
  • Provides contest preparation by scouting opponents.
  • Promotes the visions and values of Albertus Magnus College by emphasizing the experience and education of each student-athlete as the most important component of intercollegiate athletic participation.
  • Supervises assistant coaches and provides feedback for continued growth and development.
  • Provides a year-round strength and conditioning program tailored towards the individual sport.
  • Represents their respective program during coaches' meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Assistant Coordinator for Student-Athlete Success

In this role, the Assistant Coordinator for Student-Athlete Success will work in conjunction with its department counterpart and will share responsibilities over the following areas.
  • Oversees the department's Athletics Study Hall program, including the staffing and monitoring of sessions, and tracking of all data related to the program.
  • Collaborates with academic advisors and student success navigators for improved intervention and retention using Navigate and face-to-face interactions.
  • Track GPA and monitor satisfactory academic progress for all student-athletes.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Athletics, Senior Associate AD/Compliance and Office of Institutional Research in order to monitor and effectively communicate the academic progress of student-athletes for reporting purposes.
  • Liaisons with Admissions Office for the purpose of internal and external collaboration opportunities for coaches and staff members related to recruitment, including but not limited to: coach and/or student-athlete participation in Admissions recruiting events. Also serves as a resource for coaches and staff members to better leverage the College's admissions CRM system, SLATE.
  • Works in partnership with the Office of Career and Professional Development to facilitate student-athlete internships.
  • Coordinates the athletic faculty mentors' program to ensure a positive experience for the student-athletes, coaches, and faculty advisors.
  • Explores academic programming that could to be in line with market changes.
  • Represents the Athletic Department on various campus committees as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Two or more years of demonstrated, successful experience working in intercollegiate athletics and/or related areas such as admissions, advising, or student success.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience as an administrator, athlete or coach of the sport.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations, including compliance.
  • Familiarity/competency with EAB Navigate and SLATE admissions software.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience.
Work Schedule Requirements:
Hybrid work options are available after successfully completing 90 days of employment.

Benefits at a Glance:
Full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage. They accrue between 18 and 23 days of paid time off annually. After 90 days of employment, tuition remission is available, with the college covering 100% of tuition costs (employees are responsible for books and technology fees). The college values work-life balance, offering a summer schedule from June through August. Employees also enjoy 14 paid holidays, including a winter break. Retirement plan participation is available from your first day, with employer contributions beginning after one year of service, based on your length of employment.
