Job Summary

At Chartwells Higher Education, we believe in crafting outstanding opportunities for our teams. As the Marketing Manager for Chartwells at Carneige Mellon University, you will lead the charge in developing and implementing innovative marketing strategies that drive engagement and revenue across our campus operations. This role demands a creative, bold individual with a deep understanding of Millennial and Generation Z marketing tactics, ensuring our dining programs resonate with the student community. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage yearly marketing plan and budget for campus operations to reach sales targets in meal plans, retail, residential, and catering.
  • Build and implement creative promotions and awareness campaigns to drive sales in resident dining, retail, catering, concessions, and summer camps/conferences.
  • Manage and complete daily, weekly, and monthly communications with clients and the campus community.
  • Conduct and analyze consumer research, market conditions, and competitor information to determine efficient strategies.
  • Lead all aspects of the dining brand's digital strategy, including social media and other digital channels.
  • Conduct and analyze consumer feedback programs to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop and uphold world-class merchandising standards.
  • Present marketing plans and results to various campus departments and student groups.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to launch new and ongoing campaigns.
  • Lead and manage Student Success interns, sales ambassador teams, and marketing coordinators.
  • Coordinate and complete associate training and engagement programs.
  • Report on return on investment and key performance metrics to collaborators.
  • Build and share vision plans through quarterly client and collaborator meetings.
  • Other duties may be assigned, including supporting satellite campuses or regional marketing efforts and leading special projects, which may require occasional evening, late night, and/or weekend availability. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Culinary, Hospitality, or Hotel Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of proven marketing experience.
  • Experience with B2C marketing program development, ideally with a background in B2B marketing.
  • Ability to collaborate with various internal functions, including operations, culinary, retail, merchandising, and client relations.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present to large groups confidently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with social media tactics to increase brand awareness.
  • Graphic design experience using Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
